A cheaper alternatives of orifice flange, bleed ring
Do you think orifice flange is very expensive? When your valve is leaking, do you need to bleed? Please let bleed ring help you.
A bleed ring, also called drip ring, is a ring section with one or more radial pipe connections designed to fit between standard flanges within the bolt circle, using conventional gasket material. The ring normally comes with a 3/4″ tapped or 1/2″ socket weld for connecting with valves and instruments. The face of the ring can also be made to matched with any flange type. A bleed ring has different sizes based on the ANSI flange rating of the process piping.
A bleed ring can be used instead of an orifice flange union. It is easier to install and cheaper than installing orifice flanges. It comes in many different materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel etc. They provide a convenient way of draining piping, taking samples, attaching instruments or even bleeding of a valve. When used with a valve and blind flange, it allows you to relieve the pressure if your valve is leaking before you remove the flange. This is usually done with a replacement for a leaky valve.
DIMENSIONS BLEED RINGS – NPS 1 TO NPS 12
ASME 31.3, B16.5, B16.20
As a professional supplier, Hebei Haihao Group can provide bleed rings in any material or size, and designed for connecting valves and instruments, with one 1/2″ or 3/4″ threaded or socket-weld tap. Raised face, ring type joint (RTJ) dimensions and tolerances are manufactured meeting ASME/ANSI B16.5 and B16.20 specifications. For ring joints (RJ), female oval ring grooves are standard, but male joints are available upon request. The standard sizes for a bleed ring are NPS 1 to NPS 24 and ASME Pressure Classes 150 through 1500.The thickness of a ring may be affected if larger taps are requested.
While Hebei Haihao Group can custom make bleed rings in any material upon request, standard materials available include carbon steel (A105/LF-2), alloy steel and stainless Steel (304 & 316). You can choose between threaded or socket-weld connections, raised-face (125-250 RMS) or ring type joint (RTJ) (male or female), and oval or octagonal gasket types.
After know so many advantages, will you need some bleed rings in your process piping?
