ASME B16.48 Spectacle Blind A516 Gr 70 CuAl Thermal Spray for Singapore Project

Haihao Group has finished fabrication, inspection and shipment of custom spectacle blind for our Singapore end-user, built to strict low-temperature service requirements for on-site piping isolation work.

This ASME B16.48 spectacle blind A516 Gr 70 CuAl thermal spray is sized 1-1/2 inch NB, Class 150, RF face type. Unlike standard carbon steel spectacle blinds without surface protection, this unit receives copper-aluminum thermal spray coating, which delivers reliable galvanic corrosion resistance for offshore and coastal piping environments common in Singapore.

Machining details are strictly followed per client technical specification. Both the outer circle and inner bore adjacent to the sealing face are machined with R1 radius fillet, removing sharp edges that could damage gasket seating during operation. The operating handle is fully welded solid, eliminating loosening risk during repeated blind insertion and removal.

Material performance is validated for low-temperature service: the A516 Gr 70 spectacle blind meets impact testing requirements at -46°C, suitable for cryogenic or cold process piping systems. For easy field identification, two painted colour bands are applied after coating: one short light green stripe RAL 6019 and one long pink stripe RAL 4010.
