Use of loose flange

Flange can be divided into five basic types according to the connection way with pipe: flat welding flange, butt welding flange, threaded flange, socket welding flange and loose flange. There are many types of flange sealing surface, such as RF, FM, MFM, TG, FF and RJ. The loose flange is actually the combination of two kinds of flange.

The loose flange is generally used on the pipe, in that case, the loose bolt can rotate the pipe on both sides, and then tighten it. It is convenient to dismantle and assemble pipes. Loose flange is also called looper flange.

In fact, the connection of loose flange is also realized by welding, but this kind of flange is loose sleeved on the accessory component which has been welded with the pipe, and then the accessory component and gasket are pressed tightly by the connecting bolt to achieve sealing, and the flange (loose sleeve) itself does not contact the medium.

The welding methods of accessory components and pipes include both flat welding and butt welding. The advantage of this kind of flange connection is that the flange can rotate, it is easy to align the bolt hole, and it is easy to install on the large-diameter pipe. Loose flange is also suitable for frequent dismantling of pipes for cleaning.

Or check the place, or use it to align the flange bolt hole, only need to rotate the flange without rotating the pipe. When using this kind of flange joint, the material of flange accessory parts is the same as that of the pipe; and the flange material can be different from that of the pipe, so it is more suitable for the pipe and non-ferrous metal pipe system conveying corrosive medium, so as to save expensive materials (such as stainless steel and colored metal) as much as possible.

Loose flange can be subdivided into four types according to the different accessory components: loose flange with neck of butt welding ring, loose flange of butt welding ring plate, loose flange of flat welding ring plate and loose flange of flanging ring plate.
