This API 6A 6BX A694 F65 RTJ spectacle blind is sized at 6 inch (5 1/8 inch), built to API 6A Type 6BX specification with RTJ ring joint sealing face. Forged from ASTM A694 F65 high strength carbon steel, this spectacle blind is designed for wellhead high-pressure isolation duties, where reliable metal-to-metal sealing is essential under heavy bolt load. Heat treatment is implemented to stabilise microstructure and lock in mechanical performance, fulfilling the client’s strict low-temperature toughness requirements.

Each API 6A 6BX A694 F65 RTJ spectacle blind undergoes full mechanical qualification after heat treatment. Charpy impact testing is performed at -46°C to validate low-temperature toughness, ensuring the forging maintains adequate ductility in cold operating scenarios. All dimensions, groove geometry, thickness and hole layout are CNC machined and cross-checked strictly against the client’s drawing, rather than generic standard dimensions. Our QC team performs full dimensional inspection and surface examination before release to eliminate machining defects on the critical RTJ sealing groove.
