Haihao Group Supplies Ring Joint Gaskets and Flange Insulation Kits for UK Customer

Haihao Group has completed a gasket supply order for a customer in the UK, covering ring joint gasket products, an insulating flange gasket kit, a non-asbestos gasket sheet and a spiral wound gasket.

The order includes R14-D, R18-SI, R23-S, R26-D, R38-D, R39-S, R46, R47, R54-D, R55-D and R70 ring gaskets, together with RX24. Materials include soft iron, low-carbon steel and 904L stainless steel, with selected products supplied in zinc-plated condition.

The order also includes a Type F flange insulation gasket kit for 1-1/2″ Class 300 flanges and a 4″ Class 600 spiral wound gasket.

Gasket Supply for Different Flange Connections

The ring joint gasket is one of the main product groups in this order. The supplied R-series gaskets cover different sizes and pressure classes, allowing the sealing components to match the corresponding flange and piping requirements.

The order includes both octagonal and oval configurations. Most of the R-series products are octagonal, while the 2″ Class 2500 R26 gasket is specified as an oval 316 stainless steel ring.

The supplied materials are selected according to the individual specification:

  • Soft iron (D)for R14, R18, R26, R38, R54 and RX24 configurations
  • Low-carbon steel (S/S-4)for R23, R39, R46 and R47
  • 904L stainless steelfor the 18″ Class 900 R70 gasket
  • 316 stainless steelfor the 2″ Class 2500 R26 oval gasket

For metallic ring gaskets, ASME B16.20 uses R, RX and BX identification numbers and material identification codes such as D for soft iron and S for low-carbon steel.

Soft Iron and Low-Carbon Steel Ring Gaskets

Soft iron is widely specified in this order for the ring joint gasket range. The customer selected several R-series sizes in soft iron, including R14-D, R18-SI, R26-D, R38-D, R54-D and R55-D.

Low-carbon steel is used for higher-pressure configurations such as the R39-S 4″ Class 1500, R46 6″ Class 1500 and R47 6″ Class 2500 products.

The different material selections are important because metallic ring gaskets are intended to work with the mating flange surfaces. ASME B16.20 specifies maximum hardness values for listed ring-gasket materials and recommends that the gasket be softer than the mating flange.

316 and 904L Stainless Steel Options

The order also contains stainless steel sealing products for applications where material compatibility is more demanding.

The R70 18″ Class 900 ring gasket is manufactured from 904L stainless steel, while the R26 2″ Class 2500 gasket is specified as 316 stainless steel with an oval cross-section.

These products broaden the order beyond conventional carbon-steel and soft-iron sealing materials, giving the customer options for different process and piping environments.

Type F Flange Insulation Gasket Kit

In addition to metallic gaskets, Haihao Group supplied a 1-1/2″ Class 300 Type F flange insulation gasket kit.

The specified kit includes:

  • GRE according to NEMA LI-1, Grade G11
  • AISI 316 stainless steel metal core
  • Minimum 3 mm metal-core thickness
  • 2 mm total gasket thickness
  • GRE sleeves and washers
  • Xylan-coated carbon steel washers
  • Type F configuration for ASME B16.5 flanges

A Type F insulation gasket is designed for raised-face flange connections, with the gasket positioned within the bolt circle. Insulating sleeves and washers are used as part of the complete isolation assembly.

Spiral Wound and Non-Asbestos Gaskets

The UK order also includes a 4″ Class 600 spiral wound gasket with a carbon steel outer ring, TP304 stainless steel inner ring, TP304 winding and graphite filler.

Spiral-wound gaskets are covered by ASME B16.20, which specifies dimensional requirements for gaskets used with ASME B16.5 flanges.

A 1500 × 1500 × 1.5 mm non-asbestos gasket sheet equivalent to KLINGERSIL C-4400 was also included. This provides the customer with sheet gasket material in addition to finished metallic and spiral-wound sealing products.

One Gasket Order, Multiple Sealing Requirements

This UK shipment is a good example of a gasket order that combines several sealing technologies rather than relying on one gasket type.

The product range covers:

  • Ring joint gaskets
  • RX ring gaskets
  • Oval ring gaskets
  • Spiral wound gaskets
  • Flange insulation gasket kits
  • Non-asbestos gasket sheets

Haihao Group supplies industrial gaskets according to specified size, pressure class, material, flange standard and sealing configuration.
