What is a bevel end?

Bevel end is one of the most common pipe ends for the steel pipe and pipe fittings. The bevel end has a lean angle with the pipe surface and suitable for butt welding joints. The bevel end also could be used for deburring the cut ends for safety reasons.

The standard angle of a bevel end is 37.5°,with 2.5° tolerance which means the angle should be between  35°to 40°.In some other standards, like Russia standards GOST,there are bevel end angles of 35°and 32.5°.Bevel End is abbreviated on drawings as BE.

The most popular bevel end standard is ASME/ANSI B16.25,it is about the technical requirement of Bevel ends.To different diameters and thickness pipe ends, the bevel ends are different. Before we proceed the BE production,we should confirm this in advance.

In Haihao factory,we process the bevel end as per standard. When the ends thickness is less than 22mm,we use 37.5° bevel end with 1.6mm flat face, when the pipe end thickness is more than 22mm,we use the composite bevel ends for easily and fully welding.
